We hope the changes make it a more rounded game! The players in the other bands will score points for everything too, but really (especially in T20) they are likely to be specialists that either bat or bowl, and rarely both. So, we've made one band into an all-rounders band, packed with the guys that will likely score points for both batting and bowling. Stokes' incredible performance in both disciplines convinced us we needed to find a way to work them in.

This became known as the Mohammad Hafeez paradox, and it reached a nadir with Ben Stokes' stunning performance in the South Africa vs England test series. In fact, at times we became loathe to include them, as people would invariably complain when a player scored a double century in real life, but only scored fantasy points for his 2 wickets as he was in the bowling bands. It always felt odd having to put all-rounders into either the bowling or batting bands, and then only scoring them for one discipline. Put simply, we want the fantasy scoring to reflect the reality of the game as closely as possible.

Wicketkeepers will now score points for stumpings. All players in all bands will score points for both batting and bowling performances. We've dropped a bowling band (Band 3) and made it an all-rounders band. So, after much debate behind the scenes at HQ, we've made some slight changes to our cricket scoring for Superstars, which will be rolled out for the first time in our World T20 Superstars game. As The General so eloquently wrote last week, here at SuperBru we never make scoring changes without thinking about them in depth.
